Short Answer
Separate learning attempts from clear attempts. During learning, protect rare medicine and observe the fight. During clear attempts, assign each resource to a named moment: gourd for safe recovery, medicine for status or phase pressure, spells for control, Spirits for conversion, and transformations for planned safety or burst.
Resources are wasted in two opposite ways: spending everything in phase one, or saving everything until the fight is already lost.
Attempt Types
Use three attempt types.
Scouting attempt: no rare consumables, simple gourd use, and the goal is information. Learn the opener, the arena, status pressure, and the first reliable punish.
Practice attempt: common medicine is allowed if it helps you reach the phase you need to practice. Spells and Spirit skills should be used normally, but not stacked into every small opening.
Clear attempt: pre-buffs, stronger medicine, Spirit burst, and transformation are assigned before entering. This is where you spend to convert a fight you already understand.
If you do not know which type of attempt you are starting, you will spend like it is a clear attempt and play like it is scouting.
Resource Priority
During a fight, decide in this order:
- Create space with movement, dodge discipline, or Cloud Step.
- Heal with the gourd when the boss is not actively striking.
- Cure status if the ticking damage will undo the heal.
- Cast control spells when they lead to a planned punish.
- Use Spirit skills when the enemy is locked, staggered, or clearly recovering.
- Transform when you need a phase plan, not when panic has already broken the attempt.
This order keeps resources from overlapping wastefully. For example, do not use a damage medicine, then panic heal, then transform without ever reaching the planned damage window.
Timing Rules
Use medicine after you can reach the phase it is meant to solve. Use spells before the sequence overwhelms you, not after stamina is gone. Use Spirits after the opening is confirmed. Use transformations when their duration or safety lets you control a meaningful phase.
After a failed resource attempt, write one sentence: “The resource changed the fight” or “The resource did not reach its job.” If it did not reach its job, the problem is timing, not inventory.
Common Mistakes
- Pre-buffing every first pull against a new boss.
- Drinking during active combos because the health bar looks low.
- Casting control spells on tiny openings with no follow-up.
- Using a Spirit as a panic button instead of a conversion tool.
- Transforming after an attempt is already ruined.
- Hoarding so hard that final-phase attempts end with every resource unused.
FAQ
When should I use medicine?
Use common cures and defensive medicine when they help you practice or clear the phase that is actually blocking progress. Save rare offense for known windows.
Should I hoard?
No. Hoarding is a mistake when it prevents serious attempts from using the plan. Save rare items, but spend common tools when they solve today’s fight.
How do I know a clear attempt is ready?
You can reach the target phase repeatedly, name the dangerous sequence, and explain which resource will answer it.
