How Black Myth: Wukong turns six relics into a system of inheritance

Two original Bilibili videos anchor a game-first analysis of the five chapter relics, the sixth relic, selectable effects and New Game Plus accumulation in Black Myth: Wukong.

Black Myth: Wukong turns the outcome of its first five chapters into a persistent progression screen. After each regional conflict, one of Wukong’s relics joins the Self-Advance menu: Craving Eyes, Fuming Ears, Hubris Nose, Envious Tongue and Grieved Body. Each arrives with three possible passive effects rather than a single fixed reward. The story result therefore becomes something the player must configure and carry into later combat, not just an object recorded in an inventory.

That interface is the firm evidence beneath 晓得大C’s video series. The creator compares the shapes, names and descriptions of all six relics and proposes links among their visual details and cultural vocabulary. The video itself marks those readings as personal opinion. What the released game confirms is narrower: the six senses are presented as a coherent set, the first five are tied to successive chapter completions, and their effect nodes translate those recovered parts into changes in perception, timing, resources or attacks.

Choice is important to that translation. On a first journey, receiving a relic does not mean owning every effect attached to it. The player activates one option and makes the chapter’s reward serve a particular build. Later cycles can add further activations as the same chapters are completed again. Repetition is therefore cumulative rather than a clean erasure: the route resets, but the character can return with earlier growth and expand the relic screen beyond its first-playthrough state.

The sixth relic deliberately refuses the same timing. Completing the Mount Mei route and defeating Erlang changes the available ending information, but the Freed Mind entry is not simply handed over on the boss-results screen. As 玖絆久’s short guide records, the player must finish the ending sequence and enter a new cycle before the sixth relic appears as a selectable system reward. This sequence connects optional discovery, ending context and replay without making any one of them interchangeable.

Mechanically, that delay places the mind on the far side of both confrontation and transition. Narratively, it makes inheritance a process rather than a pickup. Our reading is that the first five relics let the Destined One carry fragments of a prior figure through ordinary play, while the sixth asks whether remembered intent can alter what is repeated. That is an editorial interpretation, not proof that a menu node contains a complete consciousness or that one ending supplies an official identity certificate.

The relic system therefore gives Black Myth: Wukong a durable bridge between chapter structure and New Game Plus. Five chapter endings become selectable behavior; the hidden route changes the conditions for the sixth; later cycles deepen the same grid instead of discarding it. The two videos help verify the visible set and its delayed final unlock, but they do not settle every symbolic association. What the game demonstrably inherits is progression. What the Destined One inherits as a person remains the question that progression keeps playable.

玖絆久 isolates a common progression question: the sixth relic is not shown merely because the Erlang encounter is complete. Use the short guide to verify the transition into a new cycle, then distinguish that menu event from claims about the Destined One's identity.

What to watch for
  • Check the state after the optional Erlang route rather than assuming an immediate menu reward.
  • Observe when the sixth relic becomes selectable after the ending and new-cycle transition.
  • Separate the unlock sequence from the community label 'true ending.'
  • Do not treat a system unlock as proof that Wukong has literally returned.
